In 1997, Mom was a guest of former neighbors I-Cheng and Jane Loh, the Republic of China’s ambassador to South Africa. She joined their children Suzette & Tony, Willie & Jean, and Philip, and grandchildren Maxine, Rachel, and Teddy, for a several-week tour of the Chinese Embassies in Cape Town and Johannesburg, visiting the Cape of Good Hope, gold & diamond mines, wild game parks, and the Sun City Resort.
